Federal security agency creates "TSA Cares," a new program to help disabled travelers
WASHINGTON — Traveling can sometimes be a grueling process, especially for those with disabilities and medical conditions such as Alpha-1 lung disease.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which provides security at U.S. airports, has launched a new program. “TSA Cares” is designed to help passengers with disabilities and medical conditions. It will help make the screening process easier, and will allow travelers to be better prepared upon their arrival to the airport.
Travelers can call TSA Cares with any questions or concerns at 1-866-289-9673 and TSA-ContactCenter@dhs.gov. TSA recommends that travelers call at least 72 hours in advance to coordinate checkpoint support.
