Third annual "Get the Scoop on Alpha-1"
JOHNSTON, IA — Come out and enjoy an ice cream sundae during the midst of this summer’s heat to help raise awareness and funds to help find a cure for Alpha-1.
On Saturday, July 16 from 1-4 pm, the Alpha One Iowa support group invites everyone in Des Moines, Alpha or not, to support the cause. Build your own ice cream sundae and help fund the cure for Alpha-1!

All proceeds go to the Alpha-1 Foundation for research for a cure. There’ll be live music, a 50/50 raffle, Silent Auction, and kids’ activities.
Last year’s event drew over 250 people and raised $5,500 for Alpha-1 research – $1,000 over their goal! Be a part of the third annual ”Get the Scoop on Alpha-1” and enjoy ice cream, live music, and mingle with other Alphas and friends at the Johnston Lions Club!
