Talecris wins patient compliance award
Talecris Biotherapeutics has won an award for “best integrated program” to improve patient compliance with health care regimens.
The award was presented by Pharm Exec, a trade publication, at its eighth annual Forum on Patient Compliance, Adherence & Persistency.
One of the highlights of the event is the presentation of the Strategic Patient Adherence Awards, which honor pharmaceutical company-based programs to improve compliance.
Talecris won the award for its health management program for patients with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. A centerpiece of the health management program is AlphaNet, Inc., a not-for-profit company that employs people with Alpha-1.
“The program is noteworthy both for its remarkable success rate and for its use of a not-for-profit patient support group to provide extensive peer counseling,” said the award presenters.
