Talecris stock begins trading on Nasdaq
Research Triangle Park, NC — Talecris Biotherapeutics stock began trading today on the Nasdaq stock market. The initial public offering of 50,000,000 shares of the company’s common stock are priced at $19 per share.
Talecris intends to use the net proceeds of the offering to repay debt. Talecris will not receive any of the proceeds from the offering of the common stock by the selling stockholder, the company said in a press release.
Of the shares being offered, 28,947,368 are being offered by the Company and 21,052,632 are being offered by the selling stockholder, Talecris Holdings, LLC. Talecris Holdings, LLC is owned by Cerberus-Plasma Holdings, LLC, the managing member of which is Cerberus Partners, L.P., and limited partnerships affiliated with Ampersand Ventures. The underwriters have the option to purchase from the selling stockholder up to an additional 6,000,000 shares of common stock. The common stock is expected to begin trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market LLC on October 1, 2009 under the ticker symbol “TLCR.”
