Study finds vitamin E cuts COPD risk in women

New Orleans, LA – Women who regularly take vitamin E supplements could significantly reduce their risk of developing the lung condition chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Researchers with Cornell University and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital said women 45 years old and older who regularly took vitamin E could reduce their risk of developing COPD by about 10 percent. This is true for both smokers and non-smokers, the researchers said in a statement released at the American Thoracic Society’s conference in New Orleans.
