Sens. Crapo, Lincoln, send "Dear Colleague" letter asking $1 million for COPD prevention and treatment program
WASHINGTON—US Senators Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, and Blanche Lincoln, D-Arkansas, have written a “Dear Colleague” letter to Senate members asking their support for a $1 million national COPD prevention and health promotion plan.
The letter from Crapo and Lincoln, co-chairs of the COPD Caucus, poionted out that 12 million Americans have been diagnosed with COPD and an additional 10-12 million are believe to have the disease but remain undiagnosed.
The letter seeks an additional $1 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the 2010 fiscal year.
