Learn "what you can do to feel better," at San Diego Alpha-1 education day Feb. 12
SAN DIEGO, CA – Alphas, learn “what you can do to feel better” during the San Diego Alpha-1 Education Day Feb. 12.
That’s the topic of Trina Limberg, BS, RRT, FAARC, FAACVPR, pulmonary rehabilitation program director for UCSD Medical Center.
Karen Erickson, board member of the Alpha-1 Association and Alpha-1 advocate, will talk about “an Alpha’s path to action and accountability.”
Robert A. Sandhaus, MD, PhD, FCCP, clinical director of the Alpha-1 Foundation and director of the Alpha-1 clinic at National Jewish Health, will give a research update and discuss Alpha-1 lung disease. The liver update will be given by David A. Brenner, MD, vice chancellor, health sciences, and dean of the School of Medicine at the University of California.
You will learn about healthcare reform from Miriam O’Day, senior director of public policy for the Alpha-1 Foundation and Alpha-1 Association, and about the genetics of Alpha-1 form Dawn McGee, MS, CGC, director of the Alpha-1 Association Genetic Counseling Center.
Angela McBride, director of development for the Alpha-1 Foundation, will give the Foundation update and Marlene S. Erven, executive director of the Alpha-1 Association, will give the Association update.
The meeting will be held at the Doubletree San Diego Downtown, 1646 Front St., San Diego, CA 92101. There will be a free patient dinner on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7:30, sponsored by: AlphaNet, Baxter, Centric Health Resources, CSL Behring and Talecris Biotherapeutics, Center for Science and Education.
