Respiratory therapists, Alphas, COPD patients join forces for AARC Advocacy Day in Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The COPD Foundation is partnering with the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) to let Congress know that pulmonary patients need increased access to respiratory professionals.

Respiratory therapists throughout the country come to Washington in March each year to advocate for the profession and their patients. This year the Alpha-1 Association and COPD Foundation are sponsoring a number of people with COPD to participate in this Advocacy Day March 7-8. Patients will accompany respiratory therapists to tell their stories to members of Congress.

The group will spend a full day on Capitol Hill March 8, followed by a reception where participants debrief together about their meetings.
