Pennsylvania Alpha finds a way to help others cope

With one abnormal gene from my mother and one from my father, I hit the jackpot and inherited a genetic disorder called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.

So far, I am the only one in the living generations of my family that has both abnormal genes.

My brother and sisters are all carriers, as is my daughter, some of my cousins and some of my nieces. They inherited one copy of the abnormal gene and one good copy of the gene, which means they might not have symptoms of the disease but could pass it on.
