NIH director Zerhouni announces resignation
BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 24—Elias Zerhouni, M.D., director of the National Institutes of Health, said today that he plans to step down next month from the post he has held since May 2002.
In a press release, Dr. Zerhouni said he plans to “pursue writing projects and explore other professional opportunities.”
