NIH Director Collins honored at reception
National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins, MD, was honored recently at a Washington reception.
From left are Jorge Zamudio, former director of program administration, the COPD Foundation; Marcia Ritchie, vice president and COO of the Alpha-1 Foundation; Dennis Pollock, an Alpha-1 Association board member; and Miriam O’Day, senior director, public policy, for the Alpha-1 Foundation and Alpha-1 Association.
Collins is an Alpha-1 carrier, he announced at a 2009 conference on personalized medicine.
