Join us at our 2nd annual Alpha-1 5k walk

November is right around the corner – and with it comes The Alpha-1 Foundation’s second annual “Alpha-1 5k Walk Miami”. The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 20 at 9 am at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne.

There will be a 5k walk and a family walk for those who would like to bring their children.

Equinox personal trainer John Cianca has volunteered to teach everyone proper muscle stretching techniques prior to the walk. He will be promoting active stretching to focus on muscle groups that tend to become tight after long walks or runs.

Live entertainment will be provided by DJ Harry. A group of free style dancers will be accompanied by upbeat music to motivate the crowd. Harry Gilbert runs Entertainment Connection with his wife Nancy Gilbert.

The Foundation is renting all the pavilions, so that those who attend may unwind and enjoy the park all day.

By walking with us you help increase awareness about Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.

Last year, over 100 Alphas, friends and family, healthcare providers and community leaders attended.
