ASIA: Highest Percentage of COPD Found in Vietnam
Vietnam has the highest ratio of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD in Asia and the Pacific, with 5% of its population affected, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The main cause of COPD is smoking (90%) but most Vietnamese people are unaware. As a result, most of COPD patients know about the disease at the last stage.
