Gordon Snider to be honored at Celtic Connection

St. Patrick’s Day comes early this year, when Alphas and their friends and families celebrate St. Paddy’s and honor Gordon Snider, MD, at the Celtic Connection this Saturday, March 12.

Snider, former American Thoracic Society president who served a decade on the Alpha-1 Foundation Board, will receive the 2011 Irish Shillelagh Award.

“Gordon Snider has been honored many times by his peers, doctors he mentored, and professional societies,” said Fred Walsh, a Celtic Connection committee member. “This award is different because it comes from the Alpha-1 patient community that he has served for so many years.”

Added Walsh: “We’re also honoring him for his guidance in the development of the Alpha-1 Foundation and its research programs.”

There’ll be the classic Irish dinner of corned beef and cabbage, live music for dancing, and an Irish step dancing performance.

A silent auction will feature a week-long cottage stay, a weekend getaway at Point Sebago Resort in Maine and tickets to see the Boston Celtics. For a preview, click here
