Do you have the scoop on Alpha-1?
Darin and Megan Chittick know exactly why it’s important to support Alpha-1 fundraisers.
Their daughter, McKinley Chittick, who is now three years old, was diagnosed with Alpha-1 when she was just a month old. She developed severe jaundice at birth that lasted longer than usual. Because of the jaundice, she was given a blood test to see if she had Alpha-1. And she did.

Now, McKinley gets blood work done every three to six months to monitor her liver enzyme levels. And despite her elevated liver enzymes and occasional unexplained lung issues, she is a very active toddler, her parents are delighted to report.
Now the Chitticks want everyone to “get the scoop on Alpha-1.”
They will join the Alpha One Iowa Support Group at their second Annual Get the Scoop on Alpha One Fundraiser on July 18 from 1-4 PM at the Simpson Barn in Johnston, Iowa.
They’re inviting everyone in the area, Alpha or not, to enjoy an ice cream sundae and help raise awareness and funds that will help find a cure for Alpha-1.
Come out and support McKinley and all of the other Iowa Alphas and “get the scoop” on Alpha-1.
