SD County Commissioner thriving after lung transplant
YANKTON, SD—After a four-month absence from the Yankton County Commission, Bill Tamisiea was welcomed back to the governing body this week.
The commissioner underwent a double lung transplant in April and took some time away from county business to attend to his own recovery.
“It’s good to be back,” Tamisiea said in an interview after the Tuesday meeting. “I’m feeling good. I’m just taking off a little slow.”
