Affordable Care Act now a year old, time line makes changes easy to understand
President Obama signed “Health Care Reform” — the Affordable Care Act — into law a year ago today.
The government website on the Affordable Care Act today carries a time line of changes in health care and insurance coverage provided in the law.
Some notable changes in the law include a 50 percent discount on brand-name drugs for those in the Medicare “doughnut hole,” expanded coverage for young adults, small business tax credits for providing health care coverage, and insurance plans for those with pre-existing conditions.
Many more changes are coming through 2014, and the time line is easy to read and understand.
