Since 1995, the Alpha-1 Foundation has invested nearly $31 million to support Alpha-1 research and programs in 60 institutions in North America and Europe. Investigators have significantly advanced the understanding of Alpha-1 and many believe that the focus on Alpha-1 research will not only benefit individuals with Alpha-1, but those with other diseases and genetic conditions.
Progress can only occur with the continued investment in research and programs by the public and private sectors.
