Corporate Relations
The Alpha-1 Foundation operates within a Board of Directors-approved corporate relations policy to ensure that relations with corporate entities are conducted in a manner consistent with its mission, principles, ethics, public positions, policies and standards.
This corporate relations policy stresses independent judgment in all its decision-making and adheres to standards of Consumer Communications, Disclosure, Endorsements, Exclusivity, Advance Review and Approval, Written Agreements, Compliance, and Privacy.

Funding Sources
AlphaNet
AlphaNet, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501( c )(3) organization that provides comprehensive support, education and self-management strategies for Alphas. In addition, it provides education programs for nurses, physicians and respiratory therapists, and clinical research study management. AlphaNet contributes significant funding to support research activities of the Alpha-1 Foundation.
Corporate Donations
The Alpha-1 Foundation solicits and accepts contributions from industry to support its program activities. The Foundation will always exercise independent judgment in its decision-making, regardless of any financial support received from another organization or entity.
The Alpha-1 Foundation receives funding from major industry partners— Talecris Biotherapeutics, CSL Behring, Baxter BioTherapeutics, and Centric Health Resources, among others.
Other Contributions
Other sources of revenue include: special events, major gifts, planned giving, general contributions and family research initiatives.
Accreditations
Recognized for its good operating practices, accountability and responsible governance, the Foundation has received the National Health Council’s Full Compliance Certification and the Charity Seal from the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance. These are the highest accreditations attainable in the not-for-profit and voluntary health sectors.
