Message From The Chair
Dear Friends,
Seven and one half years ago I was diagnosed as an Alpha. Shortly thereafter, I decided to get involved with the Alpha-1 community to help both myself and others like me.
When I was invited to become a member of the Alpha-1 Foundation Board, I enthusiastically accepted and I gave it my all. Now, five years later, I am honored by my election as Chairman of the Board. My involvement and dedication has grown stronger due to my admiration of our accomplishments, but also because my eight-year-old grandson has been diagnosed as an Alpha, thanks to the early detection program of the Foundation.
Our Foundation has benefited over the years from strong and innovative leadership, not only from the Board but also from good management. As a result, our Foundation is strong financially, and I am continually impressed by the programs and processes we provide our Alpha -1 constituency.
Having said that, it is always important to bring more people into our community, as our success is dependent upon a strong and dedicated support structure as well as growth in funding. I ask that you continue to support our mission of providing leadership and resources that will result in increased research, improved health, worldwide detection and a cure for Alpha-1.
My grandson and I look forward to our continued progress toward finding the cure and serving the Alpha-1 community in the process.
